[00:00:00] Good morning. Greetings in Jesus name. Jesus precious name who came here to this earth to redeem me and you and set us free. Are we really happy, glad for that? Can we praise the Lord for what he has done? Or is it just this has been like that since I was born and it never has changed?
[00:00:38] Like someone once said, the husband told his wife, or the wife asked, Why don't you ever tell me that you love me? And the husband says, well, whenever that, I told you the first day when we got married, and whenever that's going to change, I'm going to tell you again. Are we the same way with Christ? Yes, we love Christ, but do we really say that?
[00:01:10] Do we really feel that in our hearts? When I was thinking about getting up this morning and talking of God's word, different things came through my mind, went through my mind, and there were certain decisions I had to make myself. Well, of course, the first question was, one of the bigger questions probably, what am I supposed to talk, and am I willing to talk what the Lord wants me to talk?
[00:01:52] That seems to be often an issue. Am I really willing to say what the Lord wants me to say, or am I just wanting to say what I would like to say? You all know that a month or two ago, I don't know how fast the time went, I'd have to think back a little bit more exact, my wife and me, while I went to Mexico, we were there for this one, we went to different places, but at this one particular place where they had asked me to teach,
[00:02:33] And they had asked me about a certain subject. They had kind of given the subject they wanted teaching on. Then when I was, during the week I was teaching there, and the subject was about leadership and then how to run a church, also including family life. And you probably all know that family life is probably kind of one of my favorite subjects.
[00:03:08] You probably remember it. I have talked about that before. That was there again, one of my subjects there. And during the week I was talking there with them, trying to look into Scripture and see what Scripture tells us, the thought came to my mind. Would I be really saying this at the church at home too? Could I say it as clear to the church at home than what I say here to these people 2,000 miles away from home?
[00:03:46] And it kind of struck me, and I decided, yeah, I don't think that there's a difference. It doesn't matter where we're at, if we're here in America or if we are somewhere a couple thousand miles away from home, the scripture is always the same, and it tells each one the same thing. Sometimes, or often, and not just often, probably always, we are in different situations, and it might mean something different to me than it does to you.
[00:04:23] Maybe I have one problem, maybe my brother on the other side of the world has a different problem, and we'll read the same verse, and it will speak to both of us. It doesn't say that we will have the very exact problem at that moment, but the scripture is always the same. My subject that I felt that the Lord wanted me to talk today about is on family life. Like I said, I have talked about that before.
[00:04:57] Today I would like to focus a little bit more on husbands. Husbands are the head of their wives. We as husbands, we are the leaders at home And if we are not, we should try to get to that Because that's what the Bible teaches us That the husband is the head of the home I came up with five different subjects this morning
[00:05:31] First, we want to look a little bit at creating the creation, how God created Adam and Eve, the first husband and wife. Then number two, the second one is that God expects husbands to pass His message, God's message, to His wife, to His family, and so on. But today we're going to focus especially on wives, how husbands are to pass the message, God's message to their wives.
[00:06:05] Point number three is that husbands have to give account for their wives' behavior. Did you ever think about that? Husbands have to give account for their wives' behavior before God. And point number four, women are the weaker vassal And then point number five, other differences between husband and wife And we're going to talk about different things there Coming back to when God created husband and wife
[00:06:41] And we all know the story in Genesis, Genesis chapter 1 and 2 I think we're going to just take some time in reading some scriptures today. I have quite a few that we might read today. Genesis chapter 1, verse 26. It says like this, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Of whom was he talking here?
[00:07:12] I always picture that God was here with the Trinity. Some might say, well, maybe the angels were there. But I don't know. My picture is always that it was God, Jesus, and most likely the Holy Spirit. Let us make a man in our image, after our likeness, And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fall of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[00:07:53] So God created man in his own image, and the image of God created he him, male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fall of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for meat.
[00:08:37] Just a little, look a little bit at these four verses that I have read here. What is the point, what stands out when you read this? A couple of things that I was thinking of, is first of all, like I already mentioned, the likeness. Like God said, He wants to make someone after His own image, it says, and then His own likeness.
[00:09:14] What does that really mean? Being after God's image and His likeness. And it probably could mean a whole bunch of different things. But one of the things that stand out to me is God made man so that man can make decisions, what we call a free will. God has given us a free will, the same as, kind of the same as God, although I think God is over man.
[00:09:46] But when God created the world, he did it with talking. He just talked the world into existence. He just said a word and it happened. And we as people, as human beings, God has given this thing to us too where we can make a decision and say it and do it.
[00:10:20] It doesn't say that all the decisions that we make, that they're all good. We can't also make decisions that are not good. But God wants us to decide things and then act upon them. And I think that's one of our problems that we probably often are faced with. That we have big ideas and we might even say it.
[00:10:50] But then when it comes to acting upon it, we kind of step back and say, well, I'm not quite sure. We're not willing to face what it would take. For example, how would we do, as we had in Sunday school, thinking about if persecution would come? Well, we say we know what we believe, but if we really would have to stand up for what we believe, would we be willing to do that?
[00:11:26] Are we going to be, whenever we're going to face that, are we going to be strong enough? Strong enough in standing up for what I believe, not just seeing it, but living it. Do we really live what we say we believe? Another thing that I notice here in these verses, that God is telling Adam, actually it's probably not very clear if Eve was there too,
[00:12:05] but I assume, and reading a little bit the story here later on in Genesis chapter 2, In truth, God was talking specifically to Adam and told him to have dominion over creation. He was supposed to work with his creation and subdue creation.
[00:12:36] Make it so that they are going to be under his control. Wasn't that a big responsibility that Adam received? We have today all sorts of tree huggers and people in that line. I often feel, when I hear that kind of thing, that's not quite where a Christian should be at.
[00:13:11] Although I think we should protect also creation. I think there's a point in that too. Not that we should just destroy. We should protect and build it. Thinking about this story of creation, husband and wife, I would like to add a couple more verses here out of chapter 2 where it talks a little bit more specific, a little bit more into details, goes a little bit more into details, where in chapter 2 verse 7 it says,
[00:13:46] And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it.
[00:14:19] For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Well, here, like the specifics that I was thinking of, is in verse 15, God is putting Adam there in the Garden of Eden to draft the garden. There was something to work in the garden. I'm not sure what it actually was, because I think at that time there wasn't weeds, there wasn't the curse yet,
[00:14:51] but I still think there was things to do and I would like to think about it was the pleasure that we have when we go into our garden or into our little orchard we have behind the yard behind the house the good things I myself enjoy looking at creation I love to see when the apple trees start to bud God, kind of, there's always the negative parts of it, but here, thinking about what Adam was doing, he was doing the good part of walking in the Garden of Eden, dressing it, whatever it took. I'm not sure what it all was.
[00:15:39] Then another thing, what we see here in verse 17, God is telling Adam, there's one tree in the garden I don't want you to eat of. He doesn't say much, it's just a verse here. I don't know what kind of conversation God had with Adam. But apparently he told Adam, between God and Adam, he made it clear that he was not going to eat off of this one tree that is in the middle of the garden there.
[00:16:32] Then after that, verse 18 it says, And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him and help me for him. I just like to think a little bit, make a little imagination here. When God had told him not to eat of the tree, my imagination is that Adam was there still alone by himself. Then after God kind of had this little talk with Adam
[00:17:07] He also saw that Adam was alone And God is kind of planning aloud Seeing what he's thinking And says, I will make a helpmeet for you He saw that all the animals They had their partner, but Adam was all by himself. And God said, hey, I'll make a helpmeet for you.
[00:17:43] But then he goes on. It seems like there was something that God wanted him to do before that. I don't know why. And I'm not exactly sure that it was exactly like my imaginations are. But it says here and there, in verse 19, it says, And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every fall of the air and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.
[00:18:18] And whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. I don't know why it was so important to God that he was going to name these animals before he would make them a helpmeet. I don't have the answer and I don't know exactly if it was like that, but that's the way it's written here. I believe that God saw the position that he put Adam in so important.
[00:18:50] There were some things he wanted him to do. I don't know, was it that God was kind of watching and proving, giving him a kind of an exam see if Adam would really do what God tells him to do kind of start out and see if the purpose, the reason for why God had made Adam if he was really going to do it when God will tell him, when he's going to tell him something, what to do
[00:19:21] that he's going to obey? Well, here we see that Adam was following what God was saying. He gave all the different animals names. Then in verse 20 it says, And Adam gave names to all the cattle and to the fall of the air and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found and help meat for him. Then, in verse 21, it says,
[00:19:56] And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. And he took one of his ribs, closed off the flesh instead thereof. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man.
[00:20:30] What I would like for us men to think today, not that we are superior or worth more than our wives. It's not like that. But we will look at the importance that God has for us. He wants us to understand where we fit in and that we are to be the leader of our homes. We are to be the leader, the head of our wives.
[00:21:03] Now, Adam says, because the way God made Eve, he took his rib, and then Adam says, this is now bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh. and that's why she's going to be called woman
[00:21:35] and I would like to add to that and I don't think it's my, I could put verses on there and that's why husband and wife become one because they are one, they were taken off of the same material God first made Adam and then out of Adam he formed his wife and I think there is a There is a significance behind that. I believe that God did this to take part of Adam to build his wife.
[00:22:12] I think we even can see what God's plan was for husband and wife. They should be one. Now, if a healthy marriage situation, if there's a healthy marriage situation, the husband and wife, they're one, they are united in things they do, not that they don't have different ideas at times, but then also at the same time, the husbands carry the responsibility in making the decisions.
[00:22:50] The same way as Adam had to make the decision how to name all these, I don't know, thousands of animals. I don't know how long it took him. It seemed like it didn't take him very long. It must have went pretty fast. If it all happened within, I don't know, but I imagine a couple hours. Whatever time it took. But Adam had this important work to do, to name all these animals.
[00:23:22] I just have to think, how many of us men find it easy to pick a name for a little baby boy or baby girl? Isn't it usually moms that do that? Well, Adam had to name not just one, he had to name thousands. Let's go over to point number two. God expects husbands to pass His message, God's message, to their wives.
[00:24:01] We never hear, we never read in Scripture, in these first verses here, that God ever talked to Eve before she fell in sin. God passed the message to Adam. God told Adam what to do, what trees to eat of, and what trees not to eat of. And I don't even read that God said, and tell your wife too. I don't even read that.
[00:24:32] It was just obvious. Whatever God had told Adam, Adam is going to pass it on to his wife. And I think just in that we have a message. We have something to learn ourselves. Am I really one with my wife? Are you really one with your wife? And I would like to say a little more to that. I think there are sometimes things that you kind of can keep quiet for your wife.
[00:25:11] I do not encourage that very much, but I think there are some situations where you can, at least for the time being a little bit, but be careful with that type of thing. I have often told other people, when they come and tell me and say, hey, I'm going to tell you a secret, you're not supposed to tell anyone. Well, I don't even need to ask. I can tell my wife. If I think that it's something to say, proper to say to her, I can tell her.
[00:25:43] I'm not saying I'm telling her everything that I hear. But if me and my wife are one, and if it's something that's going to affect me or my wife, or there's a need of her knowing it, I can tell her, because we're one. Because that's what God expected. He expected that Eve was going to know what he told Adam, even without telling him.
[00:26:17] And I know that there is times that I haven't told everything to my wife, and I didn't want to, and I think it was good to not do it. But overall, I think when we think about this general life, we should, we as husbands, we should share things with our wives. We have this story here about Eve,
[00:27:01] how she got, or how Satan got, the serpent got to talk to Eve and made her doubt if it was really true what God had told Adam. In the beginning, he was saying, yeah, this is what God has said. Of course, he didn't tell her. He told her husband.
[00:27:33] And she goes into this argument with the serpent, with Satan. But we all know what happened. After a while, Eve gave in. Now, what I would like to stress here, to bring out, is that Adam's words were enough for Eve to receive punishment.
[00:28:05] And not just a punishment right there on the spot in which she would be over with it. A lifelong, as long as creation will last. Eve got a pretty serious punishment, not just Eve, Adam also did. But thinking about, just because God did, and Adam was expected to pass this on to his wife, and now his wife is not following, and God was punishing his wife
[00:28:39] for not following his words, Adam's words. Do we get the message? How important it is where we as husbands should be at. We have no excuse of backing out and saying, hey, it wasn't me. It wasn't me. It was my wife that did it.
[00:29:09] Did we ever fall into that trap, starting to point fingers at our wives? It wasn't me, it was her. I didn't know what she said. How come that we didn't know? Because we didn't have that conversation we needed. God got pretty serious with Eve because of the sin she committed that he had warned Adam for.
[00:29:46] Point number three, husbands have to give account for their wives' behavior before God. Genesis 3 verse 9, And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? He's not talking to his wife. He's not calling Eve, Where are you? Why did you talk to the serpent? Although later in the conversation it went like that
[00:30:18] But when God came to the garden God came and asked Adam, where art thou? How come that your wife was all by herself, all alone there When she had to struggle there with Satan How come that you weren't there? How come that you didn't find out that Satan was getting close?
[00:30:51] And God is calling upon Adam, where art thou? He didn't ask, Adam, where is your wife? He just asked, Adam, where art thou? And of course, we know they both received their punishment for what they did. Then in the New Testament, going over, we're going to go on to the New Testament, 1 Peter 3, 7.
[00:31:26] It's talking about women are the weaker vessel. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wise, as unto the weaker vassal, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered. Have you ever had that experience that it seems like that your prayers are not going through, God is not paying attention to your prayers?
[00:31:58] I have to admit it has happened to me. Well, here is one of the reasons that could be the problem. That is, if we're not going to treat our wives the way we should treat them, that's going to happen. That's what the Word of God tells us. If we're not going to treat our wives as the weaker vassal and giving honor unto her too,
[00:32:33] not just saying everything is for me, but also think about our wives and adjust our lifestyle the way that she also can get to her things she needs. If we won't do that, it says our prayers will be hindered. We might not have committed that big sin to our opinion. We might have lived more or less right.
[00:33:04] Probably we would say I have done as good as I can, but it just seems like God is not close. And that can, the problem can lay in this. that we have not put nor wives in the position where they're in. We have probably felt that I'm better than they. This thing that we have today and have had for a number of years in the world,
[00:33:39] the world talking about this equal rights thing, men and women are equal, I think we would have to admit that that is not a Christian teaching. They are equal as far as salvation, yes. But God has placed each husband, each man in his position, and he has placed the woman in a different position. Not that one position is better than the other. As far as that goes, we could say they're equal.
[00:34:13] Not that one is superior over the other. but we have, each one has our responsibility to fill and he has spelled out some of them probably not all the ones that we would like to but he has told different things what husbands are to do and what wives are to do I might touch on a couple of them but I think we all know scripture well enough and if you want to learn more well we always have the bible there
[00:34:44] to go and read and apply it into our everyday life. One thing that I would like to mention a little bit about, where I think this comes in, where women are the weaker vessel, whenever it comes to, and this works not just in the negative way, The same thing, what we saw, what the serpent, what Satan was doing there with Eve.
[00:35:26] Why did he go to Eve? Why didn't he go to Adam? And I think Satan was smart enough. He knew the way God had made Adam and the way God had made Eve, there was a difference. And he saw it easier to persuade Eve than he would be able to persuade Adam. And we see that even today about anywhere where you go, thinking about all these different missions that we have all over the world.
[00:36:03] We will usually see a bunch of women in the church and fewer men. That's a very common thing. And I think it has to do with women are easier to persuade, be it for good or be it for bad. God has made a woman to depend on someone. Where a husband, a man, is supposed to stand, should we say, by himself, he also has Christ to go to.
[00:36:37] And also the women do have Christ there too. But what I'm saying, a woman is made to operate beside her husband. A man is made to operate even by himself. In Ephesians 5 verse 23 it says, For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church. And he is the Savior of the body. Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
[00:37:19] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. that he might present it to himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but that it should be holy and without blemish so ought man to love their wives as their own bodies he that loveth his wife loveth himself
[00:37:51] for no man ever yet hated his own flesh but nourisheth and cherisheth it Even as the Lord, the Church For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother And shall be joined unto his wife And they too shall be one flesh This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church Nevertheless, let every one of you, in particular, so love his wife
[00:38:26] Even as himself, and the wife see that she reverence her husband. And these verses here, well there's all kind of things that we could take out of there, that God is telling us here. First of all, what I see here is God is making a comparison between Christ and the church.
[00:38:58] And I like to put it this way, that I think the people around us, the people in this world that even don't know Jesus, They are supposed to see the relationship between me and my wife and it shall give them a picture of Christ and his church. The way Jesus, what Jesus did with his church, that's the way we as husbands are to treat our wives.
[00:39:28] In these verses, it seems like one verse he's talking about the church, the other verse about husband and wife situation. And he's comparing them too. It talks about wives are to be subject to their own husbands in everything. Do we really believe what scripture says? Or do we husbands then feel, well, now I have this right, and go and tell my wife everything I want to tell her, in a flashly way?
[00:40:10] No, it doesn't. It doesn't say that. It doesn't give us that right. But it does say that when the husbands, and I would like to add here, it's talking here about Christ and the church, So I think we're talking here about Christian husband and wives. I do believe there is a difference between a Christian and a non-Christian as far as how close the oneness is going to be.
[00:40:44] But even in non-Christian situations, I do believe that there is still part of that oneness. Although it's probably not in Christ, but God, Christ has accepted a non-Christian marriage too. I believe, thinking especially of, thinking about ourselves, where we find ourselves in, being Christians,
[00:41:16] Friends, I don't think that we need to go further and say, well, there might be some exceptions. If we cannot find exceptions in the scripture, let's just take this verse the way it says. Husbands, put yourselves under Christ. The same way the wives are to put themselves under their husbands.
[00:41:50] Then it goes on and it says, husbands love your wives. If we as husbands don't have love for our wives, if we don't love our wives the way we should, it's going to be very difficult. Not just in one way. Then also we have in scripture the verse where it talks about, I think I just read it here,
[00:42:26] where it talks about sanctify and cleanse your wife with the word of God. It's talking about the church and Christ also. But what I see here, that we as Christian husbands, we should be concerned about the well-being of our family and especially of our wife. Our wife should be number one that we would look after. We should care about her concerns she has.
[00:43:02] We should not just ignore them. I hope you don't have that problem that I have, but I am afraid you might have, that too often we just ignore our wives. Maybe she comes up with something that doesn't seem very important to me, or doesn't seem very important to you, and we just kind of ignore it. I don't think that we should do that. We should pay attention to what her concern is, discuss it, and then make a decision on it.
[00:43:40] And the decision we make, I do believe that's where we have to practice, or us being the head of the home, where we will make a decision and tell her this is the way we're going to do it. I have heard couples making this statement saying, well, when we come to a disagreement and we kind of discuss this disagreement, we have adapted this rule that we're just going to give 50-50.
[00:44:15] Husband is going to give half of it, wife is going to be half of it and meet there in the middle. Then it's going to work. I would like to tell you that's not going to work. We have to discuss our problem we have or the concern, and I would like to put it this way, let your wife give the concern she has and discuss it, pray about it. What did we just read here?
[00:44:47] Wash it with the Word of God. See, what does scripture say? Explain it. Tell her what scripture says. Read it to her if she hasn't read it herself. Then make a decision. And the decision is up to the husband to make. Another thought that came to me reading this verse,
[00:45:23] why does scripture tell us over and over to us men that we are to love our wives? Why did God see it important for us over and over that he mentions about every place where it talks about husband and wife situations, wherever we read about it in scripture, it will say that husbands are to love their wives. Why is it?
[00:45:57] I believe the answer to that is because we husbands have the problem not doing it. God saw that that was the weak point of the husband. When our wives start to come up with an issue over and over and over again, what do we do? We can talk about it later. Or maybe even I'm tired of that question.
[00:46:30] The Bible says we are to love our wives. And then it also says the same for the wives. Submit. I don't have experience in that because I never was a woman. But I can imagine, as hard it is at times to love, it can be hard for her to submit too. And that's why God put it in scripture that we will know what to do.
[00:47:08] That we as men, we need to practice love and love and love. Wives need to practice submitting and reverence. Then, what I put down here, other differences between husband and wife. We have verses in, I guess I didn't write down the chapter here, just the verse.
[00:47:42] Wives are to keep silence in church meetings, especially in teachings or even questions. I guess I didn't put the verse down here. But I have another one here. 1 Corinthians 14.34 says, Let your women keep silence in the churches, for it is not permitted unto them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
[00:48:22] And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church. We could argue about this speaking, what this speaking means, and I'll let that up to every one of you. You decide what that speaking means, but it says very clearly where the woman ought to be, and we know that we men, we ought to be also in our place.
[00:48:55] When it comes to making decisions, whatever the decisions are in the church, it should be put upon the man and not upon the woman. As well as it says in 1 Corinthians 11, it is a shame for a woman to pray without her head covered. That word, a shame, it seems like we have understood that pretty well. Have we understood that it is a shame for a woman to speak in public in a church?
[00:49:31] It says the same way. I know that there are tough words, but they're in the Bible. Do we interpret it right? Then I would like to say a couple of things also about 1 Corinthians 11 where it talks about the head covering.
[00:50:03] I'm not going to read that part. Time is flying by here. We have that scripture there where it talks about God is the head of Christ and Christ is the head of man and man is the head of his wife and so on. and then it goes on that a woman is supposed to wear a head covering while praying and prophesying and there again we can have different opinions on what the praying and prophesying means
[00:50:39] I don't have a better way than just take the word by what it says I did believe, I myself did believe on women wearing head coverings, and I think you can see that. But I often am concerned of how come that that teaching is falling on the wayside. Isn't that because of us men don't stand up for what we believe?
[00:51:13] We can hear all sorts of arguments. We can talk about, is the hair the covering, or is there supposed to be a piece of cloth on your head, or whatever? We can have all sorts of arguments. Or we can argue about, is it the traditional covering that women used to wear, or is it the hanging veil that is supposed to be worn?
[00:51:47] Or when we talk about long hair and short hair, well, we can argue about how long and how short. We can argue about when a girl becomes a woman. When should they start to wear a head covering? And that type of argument seems to go on and on and on. But do we teach? Do we really know why we do this? Or do we just argue about it because that specific chapter talks about not arguing?
[00:52:21] And we really like to argue about it. Just because it's said there, it kind of brings us to the thought, well, maybe we should argue. Couldn't we talk about it when we talk about it in a way that we don't argue and see and want to understand what does the Bible say? I myself, I have my opinions on it, but I think I will leave that up to you.
[00:52:57] You make the decision. What does Scripture say about it? Like I said, I was struggling with this, not knowing how to do it, should I talk about this or not. But I felt the Lord wanted me to say something. So what can we do now? I think we probably all have come to one or another thing this morning.
[00:53:32] Well, I need some improvement in this area or in that area. What are we going to do with that now? Do we feel everything has just went wrong? Or do we feel, well, there is still hope, there is still a chance for me, God is still good to me, and I can change. Let's have that attitude and try to live what we understand that the scripture says, and God is going to bless us.
[00:54:07] Shall we pray? Our Father in heaven, we pause before you and we just thank you for who you are. We just thank you that you have left us with your word. We can read and we can study it. Lord, I just pray that you would help us, that we would really want to obey it. That we would really understand what you would put us to understand. That we would not interpret it wrong.
[00:54:38] Lord, I just pray that you would bless each one here this morning as we go home. And if you'll give us another week, that we'll be able to live and honor and glorify you in a way that we could receive the blessing and also could pass that blessing on to our children and our people around us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Thank you for watching!
