The Pastor's Home - Introduction

[00:00:00] The pastor's home. Not sure how many of us would like to talk about that. It's rather difficult for some, I think. Or maybe some of you have done it all right. Everything right. But I doubt that. We say that with regret some of the things that when we look back, at least in my experience, I wish I would have, you know, known or done otherwise. [00:00:36] Nevertheless, that doesn't change it, does it? You know, it never changes the scriptures regardless of where we've been and what we've done. The scriptures say the same. And we like that. We don't have to change because someone didn't do it right. So we have to change, but we don't do that. I thought of a scripture that John said in 1 John chapter 3, and I know we're all familiar with that scripture, but he said one of his greatest, the greatest joy he has is to see that his children are walking in the truth. [00:01:12] And I believe that all of us, at least that have children, that are the age of accountability, can say there is no greater joy than to see that they love the Lord and they want to walk with the Lord. And I think that's part of what the Christian home is all about, is to teach and train. I know we can't force Christianity. Christianity is not forced. And that's what's so beautiful about Christianity because there's no one forced to be a Christian. It's voluntarily. We choose to become a Christian and that's what God really wants. But we do, it is our responsibility to teach and to train and it even goes beyond our families.
